On this tour, experience the fascinating differences between the green, water-rich Dutch polder landscapes, the old island world of Zeeland with its fields, watercourses and meandering dikes, and the picturesque rural area between the Flemish cities of Ghent and Bruges in Belgium. The great rivers also cross your path again and again. Of course, you can also visit the Netherlands’ very own wonder of the world: the Delta Works - witnesses of the eternal struggle against the natural force of the sea!

You cycle along the Hollandse Ijssel through the Krimpenerwaard, the lowest polder in the Netherlands, along narrow cycle paths to the Lek. Take the ferry to the other side to Kinderdijk, a unique, world-famous and listed site with the largest concentration of historic windmills in the Netherlands. After a beautiful tour through the Alblasserwaard polder, you will reach the banks of the Beneden-Merwede. A modern fast ferry will take you to Dordrecht, one of the oldest Dutch cities at a busy intersection of waterways.
Day 4: Dordrecht – Antwerp, approx. 56-65 km
From Dordrecht, you cycle to the charming fortified town of Willemstad and on through flat polder landscapes and forests to Bergen op Zoom. Via the “Brabantse Wal” you reach the Kreekrak lock, where you board the ship again. The journey continues spectacularly through the port of Antwerp. The ship moors near the Museum aan de Stroom, perfect for a visit to the old town with the Church of Our Lady and the Rubens House.

In the morning, you will cycle across Ghent to the picturesque Leie region and the peaceful hinterland of East Flanders. This area is characterized by forests and pastures, small villages, and castles. The lively city with its numerous squares and cozy pubs is a successful mix of medieval buildings, stylish shopping streets, magnificent mansions, working-class neighborhoods from the beginning of the 20th century, where students often live today, and lively little squares where you can dine until the wee hours of the morning on warm summer nights. You can also take a bike tour with your guide. The castles and luxurious villas in and around Destelbergen, just a stone’s throw from Ghent, are silent witnesses to the rich history of this municipality on the Scheldt.

Day 5: Zierkzee – Willemstad – Dordrecht, approx. 55 km
A beautiful ride on the island of Schouwen-Duiveland is on the program. You will drive to Bruinisse. The village is known as a very isolated community whose main source of income is mussel fishing.
