Kvarner Bay DELUXE by Bike + Boat

from/to Omisalj with Andela Lora

Itinerary

Route

Cycling tours through hilly to mountainous terrain, with some steep climbs up to approximately 400-700 meters in elevation. All tours, including altimeters, are easily manageable with electronic assistance. Requires confident riding on winding descents, uneven asphalt, and occasionally gravel paths. Suitable for experienced cyclists accustomed to longer daily rides.

The roads are mostly paved and quiet outside of holiday seasons. On the island of Krk, a short section runs over unpaved gravel and forest paths. On the island of Lošinj, the tour follows a narrow waterfront promenade, where particularly careful and adapted cycling is required.

Traffic should be expected in and around coastal towns. Some sections of the route are also somewhat busier on the islands of Cres and Krk. There are no designated cycle paths in the Kvarner Bay. The cycling tours take place on public roads, preferably on quiet secondary roads.

Individual arrival in Omišalj, a nice little harbor village on the island of Krk. If you’re planning to arrive by car, we will organize a safe parking space for you. Check-in on the motor yacht between 2 and 2:30 pm. At approx. 3 pm the ship takes us to Opatija. You can take part in a walking tour after dinner.

During breakfast, you will travel by boat to Rabac. Today’s cycling tour begins with a steady climb from sea level to the town of Labin. At the top, we will enjoy our first views of the Kvarner Bay and its islands. We will cycle through the picturesque Istrian landscapes and small rural villages before returning to Labin for lunch. After enjoying our first locally prepared meal, we will descend to the boat in Rabac and continue our journey to the island of Cres and its capital. In the evening, there will be enough time to explore the Venetian-influenced old town of Cres.

After breakfast, you’ll begin your first cycling tour, which takes you from Cres Town to Martinšćica. Your ship awaits you for lunch and the crossing to the island of Lošinj. Weather permitting, you’ll enjoy a refreshing swim before your ship reaches the old seafaring and spa town of Mali Lošinj, with its large harbor, numerous cafés, and colorfully painted house facades. Here, many lovely cafés and bars invite you to enjoy a sundowner on the lively waterfront promenade.

The extensive waterfront promenade, which winds along many picturesque bays, will take you to the southernmost part of the island and visit picturesque Veli Lošinj, where you’ll reboard for lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll then cross over to the island of Ilovik, where you can take a lovely stroll or enjoy a swim in the sea.

After the crossing, we enjoy a tour through the diverse landscapes of the island of Rab. Starting from the old town, the tour takes us through diverse landscapes, from coastal promenades to shady forests and secluded coves. After returning to the boat, we can enjoy some free time in this charming town before taking a guided city tour. We spend the night in Rab Town.

In the morning, we travel by boat to Krk, the capital of the island of Krk, with its beautiful old town. A circular tour from Krk town takes us through the island’s diverse landscapes, passing vineyards and small villages. The popular coastal town of Malinska offers a swim stop. Back in Krk, we enjoy the evening exploring the alleys with our guide and relaxing on one of the many lovely terrace bars near the sea. We spend the night in Krk.

We cycle over the ridge of the island which is covered by fragrant macchia to a valley of vineyards and then onwards to the small museum town of Vrbnik in the northeast. The town built on a 50-meter-high cliff and surrounded by vineyards is the home of the famous white wine Zlahtina. Another peculiarity that Vrbnik has to offer is the second narrowest alley in the world. The way leads us across the island through old villages and rich vegetation to Omišalj. On our way we have a chance to swim in the bay of Soline. The last evening aboard takes place traditionally and includes the communal dinner and a last get-together in a cosy atmosphere with crew and tour guides.

After breakfast disembarkation until 9 am and individual trip home or extended stay in Croatia.

We reserve the right to make changes to the itinerary, depending on wind and weather conditions or organizational requirements. Sometimes the tour could be conducted in reverse order. You may find further details in your booking information package.
