You cycle on good natural roads, asphalted side and main roads or on newly constructed cycle paths with some challenging climbs and descents.

You cycle inland from Olhão via Quelfes and Moncarapacho to Tavira. Fine white villas with red roofs and curved balconies, the charming old town and the lively fishing port on the riverbank form a delightful contrast. The route continues on cycle paths through Santa Luzia and Pedras d’el Rei to Fuseta. There you can take a break on the harbor promenade and watch the fishermen at work. You then return to Olhão via the largest active fishing port in the Algarve.

This cycling route takes you north, starting with a ride up past Moncarapacho, where you can enjoy views of traditional Algarve orchards, featuring orange and almond trees. You’ll circle around Cerro da Cabeça, a green hill offering glimpses of the lush countryside dotted with typical Mediterranean vegetation. The path then descends towards the coast, where you’ll ride along the scenic Ria Formosa, a stunning lagoon system rich with birdlife, salt pans, and beautiful coastal marshes. The ride continues inland, taking you through Quelfes, where you’ll pass charming rural landscapes with fig and carob trees, capturing the authentic feel of the Algarve before completing the loop.

This route takes you up through Quelfes and Azinheiro, where you’ll encounter peaceful rural roads bordered by carob and almond trees. Continuing north, you reach São Brás de Alportel, known for its cork oak landscapes and charming old town atmosphere. The path then loops around towards Machados, providing glimpses of rolling hills covered in olive groves. As you head south, you pass through Estoi, a village famous for its beautiful palace and Roman ruins. The final stretch takes you down through Pêchão and Montarroio, where you cycle past traditional farmlands before completing the route.

This route takes you north through Quelfes and then climbs up to Cerro de São Miguel, one of the highest points in the area, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Algarve coastline and surrounding countryside. The descent continues westward towards Azinheiro, where you’ll ride along tranquil paths often lined with wildflowers in season. From there, the route heads through the quiet village of Pêchão, surrounded by traditional farmland. Moving towards Montarroio, you’ll cycle past almond and olive groves, before completing the loop. The mix of challenging climbs, rewarding views, and peaceful rural roads makes this a truly enriching ride.

This route takes you north to the village of Estoi, known for its charming palace and Roman ruins. From Estoi, you head towards Santa Bárbara de Nexe, with views of the surrounding countryside. The journey then brings you to Almancil, a lively town where you can take a break before continuing.

From Almancil, the route heads south through the quiet areas of Tôr and Vale da Venda, and then towards Montenegro, a mix of rural and suburban landscapes. The final stretch brings you back to Olhão, completing a varied ride that showcases the Algarve’s charm.

This route starts by heading east towards Montarroio and then continues north through Chão de Cevada. After passing through Conceição, it turns west towards Estêval and Vale da Venda, offering quiet country roads and scenic inland views.

From there, the route heads south, reaching the beautiful coastal areas near Quinta do Lago and Praia de Faro, where you can enjoy the stunning coastline and fresh sea breeze. Finally, it makes its way back through Montenegro and along the Ria Formosa before returning to the start point.
