Route
An easy cycle tour designed for families: easy bike stages with plenty of time to relax and explore Lake Garda with its natural beauty, parks and historic sites. The stages are short and lead along quiet side streets and some cycle paths. The routes are mostly flat, with a few easy climbs. 95% of the route is on paved roads, 5% on unpaved roads.
Individual arrival
On the first day of cycling, you will pass through orchards and the vineyards of the famous Lugana white wine, which is typical of this region. In Solferino, the scene of the historic battle of the second Italian war of independence, you will experience history up close. Along the way, you will also discover impressive castles in Monzambano, Castellaro Lagusello, Pozzolengo and Ponti sul Mincio.
A private transfer will take you to the Renaissance city of Mantua, once ruled by the Gonzaga family and now known as Italy’s ‘sleeping beauty’. From there you cycle along the river Mincio to Borghetto, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, famous for its tortellini. The highlight of the day is the Park Sigurtà, a 600,000 square metre garden with ponds, meadows, a maze and a medicinal plant garden, as well as a play farm.
After a short bike ride to Peschiera, you will take the ferry to Garda, the town that gave the lake its name. From there you will cycle along the picturesque lake shore to Bardolino, known for its red wine. A small detour will take you to the charming Lazise, a historic village. On the way back to Peschiera you will pass through a region famous for its large amusement parks.
The day begins with a bike ride through the gently rolling hills south of Lake Garda, passing San Martino della Battaglia, known for its battles in the Italian War of Independence. Back at the lake, picturesque Sirmione awaits you with its impressive castle. Don’t miss the Grotte di Catullo, the remains of a 1st-century Roman villa that offers stunning views of Lake Garda.
